Welcome to the SEFM website!

We are an active group of amateurs and professionals interested in minerals, mineral collecting, and mineralogy in the Southeastern United States and abroad. Together with National FM and other chapters throughout the U.S. we work to increase knowledge and gain a better understanding of the mineralogical world by preserving and protecting mineral specimens and mineral deposits for education and research. Regularly scheduled field trips and meetings help encourage the collection and acquisition of minerals for their research and educational value and bring together new friends and colleagues. We provide fun and energetic outings and gatherings with the hopes to advance programs of mineral study and inspire educational activities within amateur mineral organizations. Together we can aid in the dissemination of information about minerals, mineral localities, collections and mineralogical research. Join the SEFM today!
